BATH — The Strangely Possibles will kick off the Chocolate Church Arts Center’s free outdoor summer shows in Waterfront Park. The Portland-based band will perform at 6 p.m. on July 8.

The Strangely Possibles formed in Scarborough and have released four albums since 2007. Their music frequently defies easy categorization, though the band opts for “rockadelic.”

Every Saturday through Aug. 26, outdoor shows take advantage of summer evenings along the Kennebec River. People of all ages bring blankets or lawn chairs and pack snacks or bring dinner for an evening of live entertainment at no cost.

Although the Chocolate Church typically programs from its 1847 re-purposed church, this is the fourth summer for off-site concerts. The Summer Concert Series includes shows outside, as well as on the main stage. In the event of rain, the outdoor performances will be canceled.

The full roster of concerts is available at chocolatechurcharts.org.
