BRUNSWICK — Robert Gibson will open a new exhibit, “Love of Color,” on Friday, at The Gallery at the Unitarian-Universalist Church. There will be a reception and an opportunity to meet the artist from 2 to 4 p.m.

The work on display will include still-life compositions, riverscapes and several new abstract works. The show runs through Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Gibson is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art and is a member of Copley Society of Art in Boston and the Sebascodegan Artists Gallery in Harpswell. He has exhibited in numerous one-person and group shows throughout Maine and New England and is most widely known for his intensely hued still-life paintings.

His work can be seen in the competitive “Art in ME”exhibit at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation and in the juried show “Artist’s Choice” at River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta.
