BRUNSWICK – Oasis Free Clinics accepted a $1,000 donation presented by Mechanics Savings Bank as part of the businesses’s charitable giving program on Dec. 4.

Oasis Free Clinics provides free medical, mental health, and dental services in addition to prescription drug assistance for uninsured, low-income residents of Freeport, Durham, Brunswick, Harpswell, and all of Sagadahoc County except Richmond. The donation will help the clinic continue its mission in the Midcoast.

“We are proud to be a supporter of Oasis,” said Brian Robinson, an employee of Mechanics Savings Bank and a member of Oasis’ Board of Directors. “Their work makes a real impact in our community. At Mechanics Savings Bank, giving back is one of our core values, and we are happy to support the work that Oasis does to provide free medical and dental care to those who need it.”

Oasis provided care to 357 uninsured adults last year. In addition, the free clinic secured $1 million in free or reduced cost prescriptions through the Community Prescription Assistance Program.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mechanics Savings Bank,” said Anita Ruff, Oasis Executive Director. “Oasis exists because of the tremendous community support we receive, and we are grateful that Mechanics Savings Bank has chosen us as a recipient of their generosity.”
